Jewellery house Garrard has taken off the crown

Leading jewellery house Garrard has declined responsibility as the main supplier of jewelry to the British Royal Court and, in particular, to Elizabeth II and has transferred the honorable right to the successor Harry Collins. The press-service of the Buckingham Palace officially informed about it the last weekend.
It is unknown why the Queen has made the decision to change the jeweller. They say, that for a long time she has looked closely at the talented master Harry Collins, who has his own family business «G Collins and Sons» in Kent nearby to London and even has made friends with the future jeweller.
In many respects change of the supplier was connected to David Tomas’s retiring on a pension. Thomas was the head of House Garrard, which is located in London area Mayfair.
House Garrard founded in London in 1754, was the official supplier of the jewellery and, the main thing, crowns for the British Royal Court within 164 years. The most known works of the jeweller house are the crown of Prince of Wales made in 1901 and a tiny diamond crown for Queen Victoria in 1870.
