The richest people in Great Britain’s history


The British have made the list of 250 richest residents for all history of the country.

The first place, on the basis of historical documents, holds the native of France Alan Rufus (1040-1093). Rufus - the nephew of king Wilhelm the Conqueror. In terms of gross national product of the modern Great Britain Rufus had had 81,3 billion pounds sterling.

From recent people most highly in the list of the richest British of all times has risen the native of India steelmaking magnate Lakshmi Mittal. The fortune in 19 billion pounds sterling has allowed him to take 20th place in a rating.

The Russian Roman Abramovich has also got in the list of the richest people in the British history. He took the honorable 59th place.

The richest woman in a history of the country, in opinion of authors of the list, was the wife of king Henry II. To modern measures, her fortune would be estimated in 10 billion pounds.

Composers of a rating mark that occurrence of such superrich people, as Alan Rufus and other participants of the first tens, is excluded in a modern society. However, to console nowadays billionaires, they have reminded, that the life of modern richmen is much more safe, than that of their predecessors.

From 250 people appearing in a rating of the richest residents of the Great Britain for all history of the country, not less than 29 have died a violent death, including, on a scaffold.
