The supreme award of the USSR - Lenin’s award is up for sale at the Internet - auction eBay.


The starting price of a lot makes $49,99. As informs the seller of the award - the gallery of antiques located in Brooklyn (New York) the award was in use, but it is in excellent condition, ” there is no scratches on it”.
The low starting price allows to doubt in authenticity, as in ” the black market “, according to some information, cost of this award makes from $500 up to several thousand dollars.
The tender will proceed till March, 21. For the time being nobody submitted applications for the purchase of the award.
According to the Russian legislation purchase and selling of the state awards of the Russian Federation is forbidden. Their export can be carried out either by awarded, or on the basis of the certificate which gives the right of export of the cultural values. These rules cover the state awards of the USSR, as well.
On the request of the Russian authorities London auction house on November, 22 had taken off 11 Soviet awards from the tender which should have passed on November, 28. On the auction tender in London it had been planned to expose Suvorov, Ushakov, Kutuzov, Nakhimov’s, Bogdan Khmelnitskiy and Lenin
awards.
